An inexpensive, untreated pine bed might only last three to five years before it starts to rot and fall apart. A bed made from a naturally rot-resistant wood like cedar can last 10 to 15 years. High-quality composite and metal beds, however, are designed to last for decades. You may pay more initially, but you won't have the recurring cost and effort of replacing them.
