Liner & Underlayment:

When installing our raised beds on a hard surface we recommend using a heavy duty Waterproof Liner and Permeable Underlayment. 

The underlayment will prevent soil from leaking out of your planter and the rubber liner will act as a barrier between your patio and the wet underlayment. 

Tips:

  • The liner should have direct contact with the surface you are building on and underlayment can be inserted into the frame of the garden bed.
  • The underlayment is used to keep the soil in while allowing water to go through. A slight shim would be used under the boards to elevate the planter over the liner so water can escape under the space the shim provides.

    • Plant friendly - Garden Liner is based on EPDM synthetic rubber, a highly flexible stable material that's not only long lasting and easy to work with, but safe for plant life.
    • Highly flexible - stays flexible in a variety of temperatures- from -40 degrees F to 175 degrees F- enabling it to be installed year round. And unlike some other Liner materials, liner contains no plasticizers which can embrittle with age and cause cracks or splits in the material.
    • Design versatility - Liner can easily be shaped to fit the unique contours of your garden giving you much more design creativity. Multiple membrane panels can be quickly and securely seamed to accommodate larger garden lining applications.
